Role summary
Lead test strategy, coordination and execution for Identity & Access Management (IAM) system deliveries. Ensure functional quality, security, compliance and operational readiness across identity lifecycle processes (onboarding/offboarding, provisioning, SSO/MFA, privileged access).

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the IAM test strategy covering functional, integration, regression and security testing.

• Translate IAM requirements into structured test scenarios, acceptance criteria and reusable test assets.

• Define test scope, timelines, dependencies, entry/exit criteria and test data requirements.

• Coordinate and execute testing across IAM platforms (Identity Governance, Access Management, Directory Services, Authentication Services).

• Perform end‑to‑end testing for JML (joiner/mover/leaver), provisioning, de‑provisioning, SSO/MFA flows and privileged access requests.

• Manage defect lifecycle: reporting, triage, prioritisation, retesting and closure with developers, IAM engineers and vendors.

• Ensure testing addresses both functional quality and security impacts; validate controls and audit readiness.

• Maintain high‑quality test documentation for compliance and audit purposes (test plans, test cases, evidence).

• Guide business stakeholders through User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including access request validation and sign‑off.

• Communicate test progress, risks and go‑live readiness to project management and management stakeholders.

• Use test management and issue tracking tools (Azure DevOps, Jira) for planning, execution and reporting.

• Standardise IAM‑specific templates, test data sets and reusable assets; promote continuous improvement in testing practices.

Must‑have skills & qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience with IAM testing, QA or product/test management in identity and access projects.

• Proven experience planning and executing end‑to‑end IAM test cycles covering authentication, authorization, SSO, MFA and provisioning.

• Strong understanding of identity lifecycle processes (JML), provisioning/deprovisioning, RBAC/ABAC and privileged access workflows.

• Experience with IAM platforms (Identity Governance, Access Management, Directory Services) and integration testing.

• Hands‑on experience with test management and defect tools such as Azure DevOps and Jira.

• Strong documentation skills for test plans, traceability matrices, evidence and audit artefacts.

• Good risk‑based testing mindset and understanding of security/compliance requirements for IAM.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to lead UAT with business users.

Preferred skills

• Experience in regulated or large enterprise/public‑sector IAM programmes.

• Familiarity with SAML, OAuth2/OIDC, SCIM, LDAP and common IAM protocols.

• Knowledge of automation tools or frameworks for API and integration testing.

• Experience with performance or security testing focused on IAM components.

• Certification in identity/security domains (e.g., CIAM, CISSP, CISM) is a plus.
