💼 Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Data Modeller to design, maintain, and optimize data models across a modern data platform. This is a technical, hands-on role requiring deep expertise in SQL, Azure technologies, and financial data modelling.

You will collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Product Owners, Architecture, and Data Office teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and high-quality data solutions within Finance and Risk domains.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models

• Translate business and regulatory requirements into robust technical data structures

• Design and validate dimensional models (star & snowflake schemas)

• Ensure data quality, governance, consistency, and lineage

• Collaborate with teams to implement models using:

  • Azure SQL Database

  • Azure Databricks

  • Azure Data Factory

• Review and enhance existing data models and standards

• Support data ingestion and transformation processes

• Participate in architecture discussions and technical design sessions

✅ Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years’ experience as a Technical Data Modeller

• Expert-level SQL (complex queries, performance tuning, relational design)

• Strong experience with:

  • Microsoft Azure (Azure SQL, Databricks, Data Factory)

  • Data modelling techniques:

    • Normalization & Denormalization

    • Star & Snowflake schemas

    • Fact-Dimension modelling

    • Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD)

    • Metadata & lineage management

• Strong understanding of financial data (risk, payments, reporting, regulatory)

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to work independently and propose strong technical solutions

🌟 Nice to Have

• Experience with regulatory reporting (e.g. IFRS, Risk/Finance environments)

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git

• Experience with data governance or quality frameworks

• Background in banking or financial services
