Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP BW / BW4HANA Developer with strong expertise in SAP BW development, data modelling, reporting, ABAP and end-to-end BW processes. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust BW/BO data flows and will be responsible for development, testing, deployment and production monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain SAP BW/BW4HANA data flows and reporting solutions.

• Work with the SAP BW Workbench and apply standard BW development principles.

• Design and maintain solutions based on LSA architecture principles.

• Develop and monitor process chains and resolve BW process issues and bottlenecks.

• Work with data sources from multiple SAP modules, with strong experience in SAP Finance data sources.

• Develop and enhance BW data flows using ABAP, including:

  • Start routines

  • End routines

  • Field routines

  • InfoSources

  • DataSource enhancements

• Debug SAP source systems and BW processes to identify and resolve data and processing issues.

• Work with the Analysis Process Designer (APD).

• Develop BusinessObjects Web Intelligence (WebI) reports from scratch and use available reporting functions effectively.

• Develop and maintain Analysis for Office solutions at an advanced/expert level.

• Translate business and customer requirements into appropriate BW/BusinessObjects data flows while adhering to established architectural and development standards.

• Participate in larger end-to-end projects covering development, testing, deployment and production monitoring.

• Troubleshoot BW performance issues and identify solutions to process bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams and other project members.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 6–8 years of relevant SAP BW development experience.

• Strong knowledge of SAP BW / BW4HANA.

• Strong understanding of SAP BW Workbench.

• Solid knowledge of LSA architecture and BW data modelling principles.

• Experience with BW process chains, scheduling and monitoring.

• Experience working with multiple SAP module data sources, including mandatory SAP Finance experience.

• Strong ABAP knowledge in an SAP BW context.

• Hands-on experience with:

  • Start routines

  • End routines

  • Field routines

  • InfoSources

  • DataSource enhancements

  • Debugging in SAP source systems

• More than basic knowledge of Analysis Process Designer (APD).

• Strong BusinessObjects WebI experience, including creating reports from scratch and using reporting functions.

• Expert-level Analysis for Office knowledge.

• Proven experience delivering larger projects end-to-end, from development through to production monitoring.

• Ability to translate customer/business requirements into appropriate BW/BusinessObjects technical solutions.

• Strong understanding of BW development standards and architectural principles.

• Ability to identify and resolve BW process bottlenecks and performance issues.

• SAP BW/BW4HANA authorisation knowledge.

• Understanding of SAP BusinessObjects architecture, including CMC building blocks.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Knowledge of Azure fundamentals; AZ-900 certification is advantageous.

• Experience with Azure Data Factory.

• Broader understanding of cloud-based data platforms.
