Voor een toonaangevende organisatie in Amsterdam zijn wij op zoek naar een Senior Platform Engineer met proven experience en strong proficiency in Python. Je bent verantwoordelijk voor alle aspecten van reliable software development: van planning/design stage tot hands-on development, testing en automated deployment.
Als Senior Platform Engineer ben je de architect en builder van internal development platforms die development teams enablen om efficiently te werken zonder infrastructure concerns. Je ontwerpt self-service tools, automatiseert infrastructure provisioning, en stelt platform standards vast die product teams in staat stellen te focussen op feature development.
Verantwoordelijkheden:
Platform Engineering & Design:
- Ontwerpen, ontwikkelen en onderhouden van scalable platforms ter ondersteuning van software delivery
- Bouwen van self-service tools en internal developer platforms
- Creëren van application infrastructure die reliable, secure en scalable is
- Developing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions voor consistency
- Implementing platform standards die development teams efficient laten werken
CI/CD Pipeline Management:
- Strong understanding van CI/CD principles en hands-on ervaring
- Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines voor automated deployments
- Implementing robust pipelines voor seamless software deployments
- Optimizing software development lifecycle automation
- Managing build, test en deployment processes
Python Development & Automation:
- Strong proficiency in Python development
- Developing automation tools primarily using Python
- Writing Python scripts voor infrastructure automation
- Building custom tooling ter ondersteuning van development teams
- Automating repetitive tasks en workflows
Databricks Unity Catalog:
- Experience in/understanding of Databricks Unity Catalog
- Managing unified governance layer voor data en AI assets
- Implementing centralized access control en data governance
- Understanding van three-level namespace: Metastore > Catalog > Schema
- Configuring fine-grained access controls voor data assets
Azure Cloud Platform:
- Experience in working with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies
- Building en maintaining highly available, scalable en secure infrastructure in Azure
- Managing Azure services: App Services, Functions, Storage, AKS
- Azure DevOps voor pipeline management en automation
Code Quality & Best Practices:
- Demonstrable experience in maintaining code quality through best practices
- Conducting thorough code reviews en providing feedback
- Enforcing coding standards en design patterns
- Implementing automated testing strategies
Monitoring & Performance:
- Implementing monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
- Proactively monitoring platforms voor optimal performance
- Troubleshooting en enhancing system performance
- Ensuring minimal downtime en high reliability

- 8-10 jaar professional experience als Platform Engineer
- Proven experience in designing, building en maintaining software platforms
- Understanding van application infrastructure en design
- Covering all aspects van reliable software development: planning/design, development, testing, deployment
Python Proficiency:
- Strong proficiency in Python programming
- Hands-on development met Python voor automation en tooling
- Scripting skills voor infrastructure automation
CI/CD Expertise:
- Strong understanding van CI/CD principles
- Practical experience in setting up and maintaining pipelines
- Hands-on met CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI
